Job summary

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools is seeking an Accountant to oversee fixed assets accounting, grant reporting, and monthly closing activities. The role supports the Supervisor for Finance and collaborates with district departments on budget uploads and cost reporting.

The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting or business with 2–5 years in school finance, strong Excel skills, and AS400 experience. This is a full-time, on-site position with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 2-5 years school finance experience preferred.
• Associates degree in business with 2-5 years of school district accounting experience required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables) and other Microsoft applications; AS400 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting of fixed assets for the district.
• Assist Supervisor for Finance on completion of federal, state and local cost reports.
• Prepare 1099s and assist with W2 processing.
• Assist with payroll reporting activities such as payroll taxes, 403(b)/457 uploads.
• Prepare month end journal entries for government funds.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and AS400 tasks.
• Assist with budgets and reporting for grants and Excel-based reporting.
