Job summary

National Heritage Academies seeks an Accounting Team Lead at our Grand Rapids Service Center. You will supervise two accountants, oversee month-end close, and drive process improvements while ensuring accurate financial records.

The role reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting & Financial Reporting and requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of accounting experience, including fixed assets. This is an in-person position at our Grand Rapids location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership exposure.
• Ability to supervise and develop staff and communicate across units.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily activities of the accounting team.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting docs.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and robust internal controls.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, budgeting, and external reporting.
• Back up accounting functions and support internal audits.
