Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 campus environment. No experience required with on-the-job training; 18+ years old and no degree required. ABM emphasizes a military-friendly culture and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

The role supports cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, using approved cleaners and equipment, with emphasis on safety and reliability. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Move furniture and equipment to clean areas as needed.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors.
• Sweep walks and perform seasonal tasks like raking leaves or shoveling snow.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and ensure safety standards.
