Job summary

ABM Industries is looking for a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, restrooms and common areas at K-12 or higher ed campuses. You will sweep, mop, dust, empty trash and help keep environments safe and clean.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establish and maintain communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, and perform seasonal tasks as needed.
