Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways on K-12 or college/university campuses.

No high school diploma required and on-the-job training is provided. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package and actively supports military veterans in its workforce.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• One year of prior similar work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairs.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
