Job summary

Dublin City Schools seeks a Custodian for Coffman High School, 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.). The role reports to the Building Administrator or Coordinator, Custodial Services, and supports a clean, safe, welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, maintaining floors, reporting safety hazards, and performing minor repairs. The district emphasizes a respectful, professional demeanor and compliance with all applicable laws and policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or training and experiences that are considered equivalent.
• A proficiency in general repair, painting, cleaning, and operating of cleaning equipment.
• An ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• A neat appearance.
• An ability to carry out assigned duties.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Notifies head custodian or principal of emergencies and may operate HVAC controls when needed.
• Complies with laws for maintenance, repair and operation of equipment.
• Shovels and salts walks; checks exits and panic hardware during occupancy.
• Disinfects floors and cleans classrooms daily; maintains floors and corridors in good condition.
• Washes windows; keeps grounds free from rubbish; cleans chalkboards weekly.
• Makes minor repairs and reports major repairs promptly.
• Maintains building security and closes/opening procedures each school day.
