Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in general repair, painting, cleaning, and operating cleaning equipment.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• Neat appearance and ability to carry out duties as assigned.
• Alternative qualifications acceptable as determined by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Notifies relevant staff of emergencies and controls HVAC when needed.
• Complies with OSHA and local laws for maintenance and operation of equipment.
• Shovels and salts walks and driveways as appropriate.
• Checks doors and panic bolts during occupancy hours.
• Cleans classrooms daily and dusts furniture as time permits.
• Keeps floors and corridors clean and in good repair.
• Disinfects floors, cleans sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Washes windows; assists grounds cleanliness; empties trash daily.
• Cleans chalkboards weekly and performs minor building repairs.
• Reports major repairs and property damage promptly.
• Assists with securing doors/windows and turning off lights when leaving.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and moves furniture as needed.
• Follows laws for storage, use, and disposal of waste and hazardous materials.
• Maintains student safety and professional relationships.
