Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in general repair, painting, cleaning, and operating cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Notifies head custodian or principal of emergencies and manages heat/AC systems as needed.
• Complies with OSHA and related regulations for maintenance equipment.
• Shovels and salts walks and driveways as appropriate.
• Checks exit doors to ensure proper operation during occupancy.
• Cleans classrooms, dusts furniture, and maintains floors and corridors.
• Cleans toilets and lunchroom areas daily; cleans sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Washes windows as needed; keeps grounds free of rubbish.
• Empties trash cans daily; cleans chalkboards weekly.
• Reports major repairs to head custodian; opens/closes building daily.
