Job summary

The Part-Time Food Service Employee at Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 (OPRF) supports the daily cafeteria operations by delivering friendly service to students and staff, while keeping the dining area clean and safe.

Responsibilities include POS cashiering, setting up and breaking down serving lines, restocking supplies, assisting with food prep, and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service, cashier, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate or learn a computerized POS system.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
• Effective communication with students, staff, and coworkers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system and process meal purchases.
• Provide friendly, courteous customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Set up serving lines and stations prior to meal service.
• Break down serving stations after meal periods and store/restock supplies.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and packaging as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and serving areas.
• Follow all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
