Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a versatile kitchen worker in Springfield, IL to assist with breakfast and lunch service, prep, and daily kitchen operations.

You will help set up serving lines, prepare menu items, operate basic kitchen equipment, and maintain clean, organized work areas according to safety guidelines.

This position offers variable pay by state and position, with opportunities to contribute to a team serving students and customers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute ratios and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Set up serving lines and ensure all food is held at proper temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to the menu and Opaa! recipes; plan and prep ahead.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO inventory and clean storage areas.
• Assist with dishwashing, sanitation, and temperature monitoring; restock as needed.
• Handle customer monies at service time and operate a cash register or POS.
• Submit hours and timekeeping through ADP and complete daily paperwork.
