Job summary

Up Valley Float Cafeteria Manager in the Nutritional Services department of Eagle County School District coordinates daily production for the designated lunch program and ensures compliance with state regulations for the National School Lunch Program and sanitation standards. This role supervises cafeteria staff and reports to the Director of Nutrition Services and Area Operations Managers.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and operate a computer-cashiering system.
• 2 years of experience in quantity food production with 6 months supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school lunch program and train food service staff at assigned school.
• Assist in recruiting, disciplining and evaluating food service staff at assigned school.
• Plan daily production schedule to ensure quality meals and minimize waste.
• Prepare food for the school lunch program per Colorado Department of Education requirements and cost efficiency.
• Delegate tasks to ensure timely, friendly food service.
• Standardize recipes for servings and compliance with National School Lunch Program.
• Regulate portions per program standards.
• Maintain accurate free/reduced/paid student status records and cash handling at POS.
• Produce operational reports and complete menu worksheets as required.
• Perform inventory and order perishable and non-perishable foods.
• Deposit daily revenue and submit reports on time.
• Maintain sanitation and a healthy kitchen environment.
• Operate and supervise kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Provide friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
