Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant Manager 2 to support middle/high school food service operations. Responsibilities include supervising staff, serving meals, managing POS systems, and ensuring food safety in a school setting.

Qualifications include a year of food service experience, safety/sanitation training, and a Servsafe certificate. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to USDA standards within a school nutrition program.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of preparing and serving food; institutional/commercial food service experience is desired.
• Must have completed ten (10) hours of safety and sanitation from a recognized institution, or complete ten (10) hours during the first year.
• Completion of a two (2) hour Safeschools course within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing and operation of the school cafeteria.
• Assist in supervision and scheduling.
• Prepare, set-up/clean-up and serve breakfast, lunch, a la carte and banquet menus.
• Run point of sale modules, cash registers, and/or special food service computer programs.
