Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Worker to assist in preparing and serving meals for breakfast, lunch, and a la carte offerings. The role includes operating cash registers, data entry at POS modules, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment under the Nutrition Services Coordinator.

Responsibilities include supervising student workers when needed, training new NS Trainees, and supporting distance learning meal distribution teams as required.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of preparing and serving food.
• Completion of a Safeschools course within the first year of employment.
• Ability to travel to any WCSD site as needed and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for student meals and line service.
• Input data at point-of-sale modules and food service programs.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation per WCSD/Nutrition Services policies.
• Operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment.
• Set up serving equipment and carts with dishes and food.
• Assist with training NS Trainees and student workers.
• May supervise student workers and assist in kitchen operations.
