Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Worker I at Incline Middle School to assist with meal preparation and service for breakfast, lunch and a la carte items, either at the school site or the Nutrition Services Central Kitchen.

The role involves operating kitchen equipment, handling cash at point of sale, supervising student workers, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards per WCSD policies.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months to one (1) year of preparing and serving food; institutional food service experience is desired.
• Completion of a two (2) hour Safeschools course is required within the first year of employment.
• Knowledge of Reading, writing in English and basic math; basic food preparation, safe working practices, sanitary food handling and storage techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and cleans commercial kitchen equipment and serves meals.
• Reconciles daily sales and handles cash at point of sale units.
• Provides training to NS Trainees and student workers.
