Job summary

Washoe County School District in Reno, NV is hiring a Nutrition Services Worker I to assist in preparing and serving meals for breakfast, lunch and a la carte offerings at a school site or central kitchen.

Under supervision, you will operate kitchen equipment, input data at POS, train student workers, and ensure food safety per WCSD policies. The role requires physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of preparing and serving food; institutional food service experience is desired.
• Knowledge of reading, writing in English and basic math.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and clean commercial kitchen equipment.
• Set up serving equipment and assist in food preparation for meals.
• Operate cash registers or POS units; handle money and daily sales reconciliation.
• Provide training to new NS Trainees and assist in training student workers.
