Job summary

Naugatuck Public Schools is seeking a General Worker to assist with food service operations under the Cook Manager, ensuring safe and efficient meal preparation and service.

The role emphasizes HACCP compliance, teamwork, and customer-focused service, with duties including food preparation, cashiering, stock control, and adherence to state and federal meal programs.

This is a 10-month position with schedule varying by school needs and paid per the union contract.

Qualifications

• Able to complete all paperwork required of the position including but not limited to cash reports, production records and temperature records. This qualification must be met within the thirty-day probationary period.
• Must possess a positive attitude and good customer relation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the food service process using good physical safety and HACCP procedures.
• Food Preparation
• Food Service / Cashiering
• Stock and Restocking
• Provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times.
• Work as a team member to complete all duties in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adhere to guidelines and requirements set forth by the National School Lunch Program, the National School Breakfast Program and the State of Connecticut.
• Participate in training sessions related to job description.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Cook Manager and / or Food Service Director.
• Complete all duties in full compliance with the policies and procedures set forth by the Naugatuck Public Schools Food Service Program, Board of Education and school Principal.
