Job summary

Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky seeks a Cook/Baker (4 Hour) to prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in a school setting. You will train and supervise others, maintain sanitary facilities, and ensure food safety standards are met. Position supports lunch service and school events.

The role requires knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation, and proper food handling. Training for beginning school food personnel certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; progress toward GED acceptable under Kentucky law.
• 1 year cooking and baking experience in large quantities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake rolls, biscuits, breads, cakes, cookies and other baked goods.
• Prepare and cook meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes; prepare salads, sandwiches, fruit, soups, sauces and other foods.
• Assist in determining appropriate quantity of food items for cooking and baking; adjust and extend recipes as needed; maintain food quality standards including appearance, and nutritional requirements.
• Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards.
• Serve food according to guidelines; replenish serving containers; serve and sell lunch items to faculty.
• Clean cafeteria equipment, utensils and appliances; store food supplies; ensure sanitation and safety regulations.
