Job summary

New Braunfels Independent School District is seeking a Route Coordinator to manage and adjust school bus routes, ensuring compliance with TEA rules. You will communicate with administrators and parents about schedules and updates, while supporting route changes and daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Texas CDL with endorsements, and TEA Bus Driver Certification. This is a full-time position based in New Braunfels, TX.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B or Class A with Passenger and School Bus Driver Endorsements).
• Texas School Bus Driver Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school bus routes for Department of Transportation.
• Develop, modify and maintain currency of all regular, special education, prekindergarten and bilingual bus routes per TEA rules.
• Gather information and prepare TEA State Reports related to transportation.
• Answer queries from district patrons and staff about bus eligibility; distribute schedules to schools.
• Coordinate state directed student counts to determine average ridership.
• Assist Director in projects and assess need for additional routes.
• Maintain routing system knowledge and analyze enrollment/ridership demographics.
• Maintain knowledge of attendance boundaries and district growth plans.
• Assist with daily route assignments and confidentiality of information.
