Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B or Class A with Passenger and School Bus Driver Endorsements).
• Texas School Bus Driver Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school bus routes for DOT.
• Develop and maintain regular, special education, prekindergarten and bilingual routes per TEA rules.
• Prepare TEA State Reports related to transportation.
• Answer queries from district patrons and staff regarding bus eligibility and distribute bus information to schools.
• Coordinate state directed student counts to determine average ridership.
• Assist Director in projects and determine the need for additional routes.
• Maintain knowledge of the routing system and analyze demographics pertaining to enrollment and ridership.
• Know attendance boundaries and future district growth plans.
• Assist with daily route assignments.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Serve as alternate for office positions and as a school bus driver if needed.
• Work with staff to adjust routes as needed.
