Job summary

Detroit Country Day School is seeking a skilled School Bus Maintenance Technician & Driver to keep our transportation fleet safe and ready for students. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and support daily operations as a substitute driver when needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid Michigan CDL with P and S endorsements (or ability to obtain), a clean driving record, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL with P and S endorsements required (or ability to obtain).
• Michigan School Bus Driver Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Criminal background check, physical, and drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses, district vehicles, and transportation equipment.
• Drive regular routes, athletic trips, field trips, and special events as assigned.
• Respond to transportation emergencies and provide after‑hours support when necessary.
• Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and driver qualifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
