National Trails, LLC. in Wyandotte, MI is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics to diagnose and repair school buses and other fleet vehicles. Primary duties include diesel engine diagnostics, brake, electrical and HVAC work, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical training in diesel, automotive, or heavy-duty repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on school buses and fleet vehicles.
• Complete annual state inspection preparation and repairs.
• Maintain repair orders and maintenance records.
• Conduct road calls and emergency repair services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Michigan state requirements and customer standards.

National Trails is an established Pupil Transportation company providing transportation services to local Public and Charter Schools. We are seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics for our Wyandotte location. Primary job duties include diagnoses and repair of school buses. Troubleshoot and repair of diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC, electrical, etc. and preventive/ routine maintenance of school buses and other fleet vehicles.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues.
• Complete annual state inspection preparation and repairs.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and maintenance records.
• Conduct road calls and emergency repair services.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Michigan State Police, and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist with vehicle inspections and regulatory audits.

• Michigan State Mechanic Certification and/or ASE Certifications preferred
