Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and a calm, caring demeanor while maintaining bus cleanliness and mechanical readiness.

Ideal candidates will have a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P), with school bus endorsement preferred, a clean driving record, and willingness to undergo background checks, drug testing, and annual medical statements

Qualifications

• Requires CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P)
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Age 21–80 (75+ annual CDL verification)
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in 5 years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required
• Annual Physician's Statement for known medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving
• Complete LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom as agreed with director
