Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe transportation of children on the school bus and assist the Bus Driver in daily operations. The role involves supervising children, ensuring proper loading/unloading, and maintaining safety practices during transit.

Applicants should be prepared to engage in safety education, coordinate with parents, and complete required paperwork.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience is required for this position.
• Within 6 months from date of hire, must meet Oregon's Early Learning Divisions requirements for a Teacher Aide II.
• Meets Oregon's Early Learning Divisions requirements for an Infant Toddler or Preschool Teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver in implementing transportation requirements and supervise children.
• Load and unload children safely and ensure correct entry/exit with authorized persons.
• Maintain seating, seat belts, and secure belongings; monitor behavior for safety and learning.
• Support communication with parents and staff; relay notes and information.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation; participate in safety education.
• Provide water or relief on hot days and help maintain a clean bus.
