Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) seeks a Bus Assistant to support safe transportation of children and assist the Bus Driver. You will help supervise, load/unload, and ensure proper release to authorized persons, while keeping kids buckled and the bus orderly.

Role emphasizes safety, communication with parents and staff, and participation in educational activities during rides. Flexible with state requirements and comprehensive benefits support staff well-being.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Willingness to meet Oregon Early Learning Division requirements within 6 months.
• Capacity to follow procedures and maintain state transportation standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver to supervise children and ensure no child is left unsupervised.
• Load and unload children safely from the bus following procedures.
• Ensure correct children enter/exit and are released to an authorized person.
• Ensure all children and staff are buckled in appropriately.
• Maintain vehicle capacity and keep the bus clean.
• Participate in transportation safety education for children.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Monitor behavior on the bus focusing on safety and educational activities.
