Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in school psychology, psychology, social work or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plans diagnostic, educational and therapeutic service needs for students with emotional/behavioral disabilities.
• Designs, implements, monitors and follows up on behavioral intervention/prevention strategies.
• Identifies and maintains cooperative relationships with resources and agencies providing services for children with behavioral/mental health issues.
• Provides professional development to teachers to strengthen classroom management and de-escalation skills.
• Observes and reports on classroom management and activity appropriateness to ensure a safe environment.
• Facilitates planning meetings among teachers, social workers and clinicians.
• Observes students to suggest environmental changes and implement interventions.
• Responds to crisis situations in a safe and caring manner.
