Job summary

The Pelham School District is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor to provide in-school counseling services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The Counselor will work with students facing social/emotional challenges and may serve students in Special Education programs.

You will partner with Special Education liaisons, collaborate with teachers and related service personnel, and conduct assessments and progress monitoring to support each student's goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
• MA DESE School Adjustment Counselor certification required.
• Background working with children and adolescents with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual counseling services
• Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions
• Case management services for assigned caseload
• Collaborate with school personnel on social-emotional learning
• Provide crisis intervention when needed
• Do behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans
• Family communication and collaboration as part of service delivery planning
• Collaborate with teachers regarding progress monitoring
• Maintain contact with outside providers to facilitate service delivery
• Develop student goals and monitor progress with data reports
• IEP assessments, goal writing and progress reports as needed
• Perform other related duties as required
• Participate in and maintain safety training and district meetings
