Job summary

Amherst-Pelham Regional School District Pelham Elementary School in Pelham, Massachusetts seeks a School Adjustment Counselor to provide in-school counseling for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The counselor will partner with Special Education liaisons and collaborate with other school staff to meet students’ mental health needs.

Responsibilities include group and individual counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and development of behavior support plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other mental health field.
• MA DESE School Adjustment Counselor certification is required.
• Background working with children and adolescents with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual counseling services
• Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions
• Case management for assigned caseload
• Collaborate with school personnel on social/emotional learning and mental health issues
• Provide crisis intervention when needed
• Develop individual student goals and progress reports
• IEP-related tasks and progress reporting as needed
