Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide intensive SLP, feeding and AAC services to an assigned student caseload within the school setting. The role includes developing safe interventions, monitoring progress, and coordinating with parents and medical professionals.

The ideal candidate holds NYSED licensure with TS HH or TSSLD credentials, strong interpersonal and writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid NYSED Speech Language Pathologist license and registration.
• NYSED certification as Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
• Strong interpersonal, writing and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive speech-language, feeding and AAC services to students based on IEP goals.
• Develop feeding and meal-time plans and interventions.
• Assess and plan therapy addressing communication, AAC, oral motor and feeding needs.
• Document progress in session notes, progress reports and evaluations.
• Communicate with parents and medical professionals to align with educational plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to implement a comprehensive plan.
• May cover as substitute teacher for school activities as needed.
• May screen hearing and refer for further evaluation when necessary.
• Assist with documenting medical necessity for AAC devices and authorizations.
