Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and students with significant disruptive behaviors. The position requires RBT certification, experience with EBD, and related state assessments.

The role emphasizes implementing behavior plans and ABA-based strategies, collaborating with the behavior team to promote learning.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid Registered Behavior Technician Certificate or willingness to obtain and maintain RBT certification.
Minimum one year experience with students with significant disruptive behaviors and/or Emotional Behavioral Disorders.
Education level per federal, state and local guidelines; certification as mandated by the PSC; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or passing of GACE Ethics and Paraprofessional Assessments.

Responsibilities

Support teachers of students and work with students displaying unsafe and disruptive behaviors.
Serve as a member of the behavior team to implement positive intervention plans.
Use appropriate instructional strategies as prescribed by appropriate personnel.
Provide support to students in resource, self-contained and/or regular classrooms.
Assist with IEP/behavior/healthcare plans as required.
Maintain classroom rules, routines, and safety; apply positive behavior techniques.
Assist in supervising students including bus loading/unloading and activities.
Support in providing ABA-based training and data collection.
