Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council is seeking an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) to evaluate students and collaborate on IEP goal development at assigned sites. This role provides educationally relevant therapeutic interventions to enhance participation and learning in diverse environments.

Responsibilities include screenings, evaluations, data collection, progress reporting, and coordination with families and school staff. A Connecticut OT license and NBCOT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited OT program.
• Current NBCOT registration and CT license.
• Two years of pediatric/school OT experience.
• Knowledge of school system practice, laws, and regulations.
• Ability to work within IEP frameworks and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete screenings, evaluations, develop measurable goals, plan and implement interventions, and collect data.
• Communicate evaluation results to educators, parents, students, and other professionals or agencies as appropriate.
• Document therapy services including progress notes, evaluations, IEPs, trainings, and Medicaid billing when required.
• Maintain and submit time records for billing activities including travel and direct/indirect services.
• Collaborate, consult, teach, and monitor professionals and paraprofessionals involved with OT interventions.
• Provide consultation to schools and districts regarding student, staff, and system needs.
• Attend team meetings and participate in in-services and professional development.
• Maintain equipment, order supplies, and manage inventory; arrange repairs as needed.
