Job summary

Northwest Regional Education Service District seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and provide OT services to children with disabilities under IEP/IFSP plans. The role collaborates with parents and school staff, designs treatment plans, and trains instructional personnel at school sites.

Candidates must hold Oregon OT licensure, have a bachelor’s degree, and at least two years of experience with children.

Qualifications

Holds current Oregon occupational therapy license.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum two years experience working with children.
Proficient with database software, email, internet and word processing.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with parents and staff to support the educational program.
Evaluate children to determine need for occupational therapy services.
Design and reevaluate treatment plans via IEP/IFSP.
Provide training to instructional assistants and others within the educational plan.
Document evaluations, test results, progress reports and notes with confidentiality.
Coordinate with professionals and staff to implement OT goals and objectives.
Serve as resource for medical information for families and staff.
Maintain communication with agencies related to child’s needs, progress and safety.
Supervise OT assistants and adapt materials to aid participation in education.
Maintain supplies and keep current with practice standards.
