Job summary

Concord Community Schools is seeking a school-based Occupational Therapist to support students’ access to and participation in educational programs. You will evaluate needs, develop IEP goals, and deliver evidence-based supports across classrooms, therapy rooms, and community settings.

You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to integrate therapy recommendations, adapt materials, and monitor student progress toward goals while remaining compliant with IDEA and Section 504

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Indiana license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Registration with NBCOT preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in school or pediatric settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Article 7, and Section 504 law and best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
  • Ability to manage a caseload across multiple school buildings with effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality.
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students’ fine and gross motor, sensory, self-care, and functional needs in accordance with IDEA, Article 7, and Section 504 law.
  • Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals, service plans, and accommodations tailored to student needs.
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and community-based environments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to integrate therapy recommendations into the educational program for individual students.
  • Design and adapt instructional materials, tools, and environments to support student participation and access.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, providing regular updates and reports to IEP teams.
  • Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings, and eligibility reviews.
  • Train and support staff in implementing accommodations, assistive technology and sensory strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of current occupational therapy practices, school-based service delivery models, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
