Job summary

PRO is seeking a School-Based Mental Health Technician for a full-time, 10-month role in Scranton, PA. The position supports middle and high school students with behavioral and mental health needs, following school hours.

Your responsibilities include delivering behavior support, implementing individual plans, leading social-emotional groups, and modeling appropriate behaviors for students. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services is required.
• Motivation to work with children/youth with behavioral health needs.
• At least one year of experience with children with behavioral challenges.
• Experience as a school-based Mental Health Technician is preferred.
• Completion of 40 hour RBT training; Safety-Care certification is a plus.
• Current clearances obtained within 6 months.

Location: Scranton, PA

Schedule: Full-time, M-F, school hours. This is a 10-month position.

What you’ll do as a Mental Health Technician

Mental Health Technicians provide behavior support to all students within the classroom, support individual behavioral plans and interventions, run daily social-emotional groups, provide direct behavioral instruction, and model appropriate behavior for students experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services is required
• Strong desire and motivation to work with children/youth with a behavioral/mental health diagnosis
• A minimum of one-year experience working with children with behavioral challenges
• Previous experience as a school-based Mental Health Technician is highly preferred
• Completion of the 40 hour RBT training (3rd edition task list) is highly preferred. A free course can be found through Autism Partnership Foundation.
• Current clearances (within 6 months); Safety-Care certification is a plus
