Job summary

PRO Companies in Wilkes-Barre, PA seeks a School-Based Mental Health Technician to provide behavior support to K-12 students, participate in social-emotional groups, and assist with individualized behavioral plans in a full-time, school-based setting.

As part of a collaborative team, you will model appropriate behavior, support classroom instruction, and help create a stable, nurturing environment. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a human services field and prior relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services area is required.
• Minimum two years of experience working with children in a mental health setting.
• Preferred experience as a school-based Mental Health Technician.
• Completion of the 40 hour RBT training (3rd edition task list) preferred.
• Current clearances within 6 months; Safety-Care certification is a plus.

Schedule: Full-time, M-F, normal school day hours

Caseload: K-12, Partial Hospitalization Program

What you’ll do as a Mental Health Technician.

Mental Health Technicians provide behavior support to all students within the classroom, support individual behavioral plans and interventions, run daily social-emotional groups, provide direct behavioral instruction, and model appropriate behavior for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services area is required
• Strong desire and motivation to work with children/youth with a behavioral/mental health diagnosis
• A minimum of two years experience working with children in a mental health setting
• Previous experience as a school-based Mental Health Technician is highly preferred
• Completion of the 40 hour RBT training (3rd edition task list) is highly preferred. A free course can be found through Autism Partnership Foundation.
• Current clearances (within 6 months); Safety-Care certification is a plus
