Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is hiring School-Based Mental Health Professionals to support K-12 students in a permanent, year-round role. The position offers a 40-hour work week, onsite school-based settings, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus with supervision toward licensure for associates.

Beginning salaries start at $54,000 for associates and $61,000 for licensed clinicians, with paid supervision and flexible pay options. Travel between up to 3 school sites is required.

Qualifications

• Active license or associate-level license in NC (LCMHC/LCMSW/LMFT) or eligible.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy.
• Comfort with crisis assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based modalities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to complete state clearances and background checks.
• Reliable transportation for travel between school sites.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for K-12 students addressing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
• Respond with crisis intervention and risk assessments when needed.
• Assess and evaluate students' mental health needs.
• Design and carry out tailored treatment plans using CBT and trauma-informed care.
• Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student success.
• Help create a positive school climate where every student is supported.
• Maintain clinical notes and treatment plans meeting regulatory standards (FERPA, reporting).
• Travel between school sites as assigned.
