Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is hiring a part-time School-Based Mental Health Associate to support children, adolescents, and families in home and school settings. The role offers paid supervision, a year-long training program, and a 20-hour weekly schedule with immediate start.

Ideal candidates are those pursuing licensure (AMFT/ACSW/APCC) with California BBS registration and the ability to travel between assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Current or in-process registration as an associate (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Availability Monday-Friday and the ability to commit to 20 hours per week.
• Willingness to participate in the full training program year.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to complete required state clearances and background checks.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to children, adolescents, and families using evidence-based treatments.
• Deliver short-term, strengths-based counseling and skill-building interventions.
• Provide prevention and early intervention services, individually or in groups.
• Engage caregivers through psychoeducation and family sessions.
• Collaborate with IEP teams and participate in IEP meetings.
• Work with school staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Facilitate groups and workshops promoting mental health awareness.
• Respond to crises with safety planning and risk assessments.
• Complete timely clinical documentation and protect student confidentiality.
