Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is hiring a School-Based Mental Health Professional to support K-12 students in North Carolina. This full-time, year-round role offers salaried pay starting at $50,000 for associates and $55,000 for licensed clinicians, with free weekly supervision toward licensure.

Onsite, travel between up to 3 school sites, and a permanent W-2 position are provided. Join a team dedicated to empowering students, collaborating with teachers and families, and delivering evidence-based

Qualifications

• Active license or associate-level license in North Carolina (LCMHC/LCMSW/LMFT) or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy.
• Crisis assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based modalities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to complete state clearances and background checks.
• Reliable transportation for travel between school sites.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for K–12 students addressing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
• Respond with crisis intervention and risk assessments when needed.
• Assess and evaluate students' mental health needs.
• Design and implement treatment plans using CBT, trauma-informed care, and play therapy.
• Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and parents on support plans.
• Help create a positive school climate where students feel seen and supported.
• Maintain clinical notes and treatment plans meeting regulatory standards (FERPA, mandated reporting).
• Stay current with research and best practices in school-based mental health.
• Travel between school sites as assigned.
