The position provides direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs, includes crisis de-escalation responsibilities, and requires collaboration with teachers and behavioral staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year working with children or young adults with behavioral, emotional, and/or personal care needs.
• Must remain calm and take initiative in high-stress situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.
• Must commit to one full school year.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs.
• Serve as the monitor/support during crisis situations in the classroom.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and promote safety.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, and behavioral staff.
• Support the student’s daily routines, including academics, transitions, and behavioral goals.
