Job summary

Valley Youth House is seeking a School Based Counselor for the Bethlehem area. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based curriculums within the school, with a strong emphasis on direct student services and family engagement.

This full-time position requires a master's degree in counseling or related field and background clearances. You will work in a trauma-informed setting, collaborate with supervisors, and document all activities in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related human services discipline (license-eligible where required).
• Must be a mature, responsible role model for youth and families.
• Complete all required trainings on hire and as required.
• Background checks including criminal, child abuse, FBI and National Sex Offender clearances; must receive passing motor vehicle clearance.
• Able to walk and climb stairs; able to work in loud environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide at least 60% of time on billable services within the school setting using identified evidence-based curriculums.
• Spend at least half of the time providing direct services to students and/or their family members and engage them in treatment.
• Meet regularly with assigned supervisor to review caseload and progress per program guidelines.
• Attend and actively engage in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Complete and submit electronic health records with required clinical documentation within established timelines.
• Administer assigned clinical assessments to all students on caseload and complete dictation within time frames.
• Complete other paperwork for the program and/or grant funding in a timely manner.
