Job summary

River Valley Counseling Center, Inc. is seeking School-Based Clinicians to provide trauma‑informed mental health assessment and treatment within partner schools. The role emphasizes collaboration, culturally responsive care, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Offers two pay structures: Fee For Service or Salary Plus with flexible schedules for part- and full-time clinicians, plus robust benefits and alignment with MA school-based needs.

Qualifications

• Education Level - Master’s degree in human services, counseling, clinical psychology or social work
• Skills/Abilities - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, crisis intervention skills, organization skills, attention to detail, computer skills, good customer relation skills, knowledge of legal & ethical issues pertaining to their profession
• Years of Experience - 3 years preferred; However, new grads are welcome to apply!
• Licensing - LMHC, LMFT, LCSW or LICSW in the state of MA

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop personalized treatment plans for clients.
• Provide on‑going therapy to individuals, families and/or couples, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and conducting on‑going assessments of progress.
• Utilize strength‑based, trauma‑informed, resilience‑building communication strategies in interactions with clients and families. Exercise cultural humility and respect at all times.
• Maintain client confidentiality, rights, and records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Document all clinical work accurately and maintain client records according to established RVCC and regulatory standards and procedures.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of community services and resources for clients.
• Coordinate any necessary referrals, outreach, advocacy, or case consultation as appropriate to meet client needs.
• Report abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or disabled person in accordance with Massachusetts law for mandated reporters.
• Participate in client care and multidisciplinary team conferences when indicated.
• Facilitate family consults and/or sessions when clinically indicated for minor clients
