Job summary

Child and Family Focus, Inc. seeks a School Based Behavioral Technician to work with DCIU Aston Education Center and The County Alternative High School.

The role provides 1-to-1 behavioral support in a school setting, following individualized behavioral plans to reduce challenging behaviors and support educational teams. The position runs for the 2026–2027 school year, 7:30am–3:00pm, M‑F, with potential continuation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, education, criminal justice, or another related human services field.
  • Or a licensed registered nurse with one year direct care experience with children/adolescents.
  • Or a bachelor’s degree in another field plus one year direct care experience with children/adolescents.
  • Or an associate’s degree or sixty credits toward a bachelor’s degree plus three years direct care experience with children/adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-to-1 support to the child and educational team support using behavioral interventions.
  • Support problem-solving and skill development of the child/youth/young adult.
  • Instruct on understanding and managing feelings and emotional responses.
  • Support development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior.
  • Assist with development of social skills and appropriate behaviors.
  • Instruct on stress-reduction techniques.
  • Collect behavioral data.
  • Collaborate with team members including CFF/DCIU staff and parents.
  • Consult and obtain supervision biweekly.
  • Document case activity using an EMR system within required timeframe.
  • Participate in group supervisions monthly.
  • Apply trauma-informed care values (safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment).
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
