Job summary

Child and Family Focus, in partnership with DCIU, seeks a School Based Behavioral Technician to support students at DCIU Aston Education Center and The County Alternative High School during the 2026–2027 school year.

The role runs 7:30am–3pm, Monday to Friday, in a 10-month position with potential continuation. Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement behavioral plans and document progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, education, criminal justice, or related human services field
  • RN license + 1 year direct care with children/adolescents
  • Bachelor’s degree in another field + 1 year direct care with children/adolescents
  • Associates degree or 60 credits + 3 years direct care with children/adolescents

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 support to the child and educational team support using behavioral interventions from the student’s plan
  • Support problem-solving and skill development
  • Instruct children on understanding and managing feelings
  • Develop improved decision-making skills to manage behavior
  • Assist with development of social skills and appropriate behaviors
  • Instruct on stress-reduction techniques
  • Collect behavioral data
  • Collaborate with CFF and DCIU teams
  • Obtain supervision biweekly
  • Submit proof of service delivery and billing on time
  • Document case activity in EMR
  • Participate in monthly group supervisions
  • Apply trauma-informed care values in all practices
  • Complete other duties as assigned
