Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Two years of related college coursework required.
• One year of experience in a mental health or human service program preferable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services preferred.
• Active Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Provide one-on-one and group therapy processing sessions, assessment of student needs, and individual behavior planning.
• Observe, document, and maintain data regarding student behavior, attendance, and progress; evaluate information and make recommendations.
• Establish rapport with students, staff, parents, and community agencies to promote positive outcomes.
• Implement behavior management programs to enhance social and academic skills and support teachers.
• Assist with day-to-day discipline and coordinate activities for parents and community agencies.
• Provide supervision to students and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in trainings.
