Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Behavior Support Technician to assist staff during crises, perform FBAs, and help develop and implement CPI-based behavior plans for students with disabilities. The BST will promote safety, well-being, and educational access under supervision.

The role requires CPI training, a high school diploma, and at least 3 years of experience with student behavior. Travel between district locations may be required and duties may include transportation support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPI training required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with student behavior.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students; ensure students understand the student code of conduct.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
• Provide one-on-one support to students in crisis situations using CPI strategies.
• Use CPI strategies to assist students in modifying behaviors.
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with staff in BIPs.
• Monitor and provide feedback to staff on implementation of BIPs.
• Collaborate with staff during individual student crisis situations.
• Collect, analyze, and assess data related to student behavior.
• Participate in daily transportation duties.
