Job summary

The Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative (SMEC) seeks an RBT Paraprofessional to support students with significant behavioral needs. You will work with teachers, BCBAs and staff to apply ABA strategies, collect data, and implement interventions in the classroom.

The role is school-year based (184 days) with a summer program; benefits include health, dental and life insurances, and retirement options. Local travel to various schools is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Behavior Technician certification.
• Minimum of an Associate degree/equivalent or passing ParaPro test.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Formal training in ABA or Behavioral Support Interventions.

Responsibilities

• Apply basic ABA principles in classroom settings as directed.
• Assess student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior.
• Collect data for Functional Behavioral Assessments and BIPs.
• Implement Behavior Intervention plans to affect behavior changes.
• Review and monitor BIPs for multiple students at the same time.
• Consult with the BCBA on data analysis and plan modifications.
• Model BIP implementation for paraprofessionals and staff.
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful classroom environment.
