Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional School Aide to support students throughout the school day, implement crisis interventions, and assist with behavioral plans. The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and alignment with organizational values.

Responsibilities include supervising students, documenting behavior data, and participating in staff meetings. The position requires related education, DCJS background review, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree in education, social work, psychology or related field and minimum of one year experience working with children in a group setting OR a High School diploma, GED, and/or GED equivalent programs with a minimum of three years experience working with children in a group setting.
• NJDOE Criminal History Review
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office/Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during arrival, departure, lunch, instructional periods, and activities across campus.
• Assist with crisis management plans including conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Assist with development and evaluation of behavioral plans and data collection.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.
