Job summary

YMCA Southcoast in Fall River, MA, seeks a Group Leader/Monitor to supervise a designated group of children during transport from school to the YMCA. The role emphasizes safety, effective communication with schools, and adherence to program standards.

Under the direction of the School Age Director, you will provide bus activities, enforce vehicle rules, coordinate with school staff, and help maintain cleanliness and safety of vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and able to work 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri.
• Current knowledge of state and YMCA standards for early education/childcare.
• Educational requirements in line with EEC regulations.
• Ability to develop and manage a large group of children.
• Ability to make mature judgments in difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a designated group of children while in transport from school to the YMCA.
• Provide appropriate bus activities per established Child Care Services regulations.
• Promote and enforce vehicle rules to ensure passenger safety.
• Act as liaison with school personnel when gathering children at schools.
• Maintain open communication with children, the school and the program.
• Participate in transportation training and certification annually.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicles.
