YMCA Southcoast in Fall River, MA, seeks a Group Leader/Monitor to supervise a designated group of children during transport from school to the YMCA. The role emphasizes safety, effective communication with schools, and adherence to program standards.

Under the direction of the School Age Director, you will provide bus activities, enforce vehicle rules, coordinate with school staff, and help maintain cleanliness and safety of vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and able to work 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri.
• Current knowledge of state and YMCA standards for early education/childcare.
• Educational requirements in line with EEC regulations.
• Ability to develop and manage a large group of children.
• Ability to make mature judgments in difficult situations.

Position Summary:

Essential Functions:

• Provide appropriate bus activities in accordance with established Child Care Services regulations.
• Promote and enforce established vehicle rules and procedures to insure passenger safety.
• Act as the Y liaison with school personnel when gathering children at the schools.
• Provide open communication with children, the school and the program, to assure highest standards of care are being met.
• Participate in transportation training and certification annually.
• Participate in maintenance of cleanliness and safety of the vehicles
