Job summary

The YMCA Southcoast in Wareham, MA seeks a dedicated childcare lead to supervise a designated group of children across programs. You will implement activities, monitor participation, and maintain a safe, healthy environment in accordance with state regulations.

You will also observe and document child development, communicate regularly with parents, plan engaging activities, and help enforce ground rules while promoting YMCA values and community impact.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements according to EEC regulations.
• Ability to effectively interact with parents and children on a range of issues.
• Demonstrated skill in developing and leading a range of children’s educational, recreational, and social activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a designated group of children in a range of programs and activities.
• Provide activities in accordance with established Child Care Services regulations.
• Establish and promote an environment to allow child growth physically, emotionally, socially.
• Model healthy eating standards and active living within program times.
• Make observations and assess information for inclusion in child evaluations.
• Provide open communication with parents and children to assure highest standards of care.
