Job summary

Old Colony YMCA is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support the School Age program. The role focuses on supervising children, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and upholding the organization’s mission and policies.

Availability is mornings, with duties spanning curriculum support, behavior management, and family engagement. The successful candidate will hold CPR and First Aid certifications, pass a medical examination, and demonstrate the capacity to work as part of a team while

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Physical examination evidence within the last 12 months.
• Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
• Physical capacity to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75 lbs on occasion (40 lbs frequently when caring for children).
• Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
• Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EEC regulations and Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care, Child Guidance, Health Care).
• Assist in implementing the program curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations and YMCA policies.
• Help run daily activities such as Y Chat, Asset Curriculum, BOKS, and Fun/Food Curriculum.
• Maintain appropriate child behavior in strict adherence to the YMCA Child Guidance Policy and Child Care Policy.
• Assist with Fun/Food Curriculum, menu planning, and ensuring HEPA standards are met.
